Mitali, is a Guwahati based entrepreneur whose passion for incessant learning and imparting of knowledge, led to her culinary venture “Food Sutra by Mitali”. The inception of her entrepreneurship goes to a few years back when she became a mother and chose to be a “stay-at-home parent “ and yet yearned to do something to be financially independent. Her yearning ushered to some fair research in which she figured that women take a lot of interest in cooking. To her favour, skilful cooking has been her domain since long, a skill passed on from her mother. And that is how, keeping up her firmness and fortitude, Mitali started off with her cooking sessions in 2015, from her home, with just one student. She later elevated her skills by learning baking from best mentors in the country to be able to share the same with her students. Gradually the number of students increased, and Mitali credits digital media for that. The online platforms helped her to reach a much wider audience. Her students and their responses, and motivation from her well-wishers became her strongest drive to keep bettering her skills. Today, over 3000 students from different parts of India and abroad have learnt baking and cooking from “Food Sutra by Mitali “ and have empowered many individuals to be financially independent
Mitali is also deep rooted in her culture. The bond she shares with her culture and region reflects in her culinary sessions. Her culinary trainings were not only confined to her Culinary Studio and the urban crowd alone. She expanded her culinary trainings to the rural areas as well. She has qualification and Work Experience in Hospitality and Tourism Sector and has earlier worked for travel brands like SOTC.
